PCs and MAC sometimes just come down to what you like and our comfortable with not what you need.

Agreed, too many people out there that are die hards and think that their product is the only product, both Apple and Windows are great products. Of course, since I'm 100+ miles from the nearest Apple Store, there's not a lot of opportunity. One thing I like about Apple Stores is that you can basically use them as free internet kiosks if you're at the mall and need a fix of the web (if, for example, your co-shopper is going to be spending hour shopping for clothes). Unless you make a real nuisance of yourself (spending 5 hours there every day, or bring food and drink into the store and eating/drinking near the computers, the employees won't bother you.And when you think about it, why should they? Apple feels that their computers sell themselves, so why keep people away from the computers? Also, having "moochers" in the store makes the store look popular - and that's never a bad thing.@ Evan - If you haven't played with a Mac in a while (particularly if you haven't used OS X much), give it a shot. The Unix foundation really added a lot of functionality, due to the availability of Unix application that could (and have been) ported for use on OS X.I haven't actually used boot camp at all. Having to pony up the money for a full version of Windows (not just an upgrade version) was a bit of a show stopper, since I was pretty sure I'd rarely use it.With so much functionality on the web today, the browser is becoming as important as the operating system, if it isn't already there. For a person who just checks email and plays around on Facebook, their choice of operating system isn't particularly important - so they should just pick what they're most comfortable with.

@ Samurai – I haven’t actually had the need to use the genius bar. Now, I'm solely PC, but mostly because I do a fair bit of gaming. Even with boot camp, there is more flexibility on the PC side. I would like to get a Mac soon, though, just because it has always intrigued me.It is refreshing to see a balanced article on this subject. It is always amusing to see the MS or Apple zealots come out elsewhere. They seem to forget that Apple and Microsoft are just companies, looking to make a buck.
