I have anecdotally heard of people getting substantially worse mileage, but I've run ethanol in 4 cars, and the mileage different between ethanol and straight gasoline has been a blip on the radar. If you really are losing 10% of your mileage with the standard ethanol blend, I'd suggest discontinuing use immediately, since this would mean that the ethanol is giving you 0 power - you'd get the same impact by just putting in 9 gallons of gas instead of 10 :) I verified this – the 85 in E85 refers to the ethanol percentage, not the gasoline percentage:
