It is football season again. By the time this article is published, the first week of the regular season will already be on the books. The following is my prediction of what the results of this season will be. In 17 weeks we will see just how right or wrong I am, at least as far as the playoffs go.

Division 2012 2013 Prediction
AFC East New England New England
AFC North Baltimore Cincinnati
AFC South Houston Houston
AFC West Denver Denver
AFC Wild Card Indianapolis Indianapolis
AFC Wild Card Cincinnati Pittsburgh
NFC East Washington New York
NFC North Green Bay Green Bay
NFC South Atlanta Atlanta
NFC West San Francisco Seattle
NFC Wild Card Seattle San Francisco
NFC Wild Card Minnesota Minnesota

  • Exiting Playoffs: Baltimore, Washington – Baltimore defense is just too weak, RGIII will get hurt.
  • Joining Playoffs: New York Giants, Pittsburgh – both purely on defense
  • San Francisco moves from division champion to wild card – Keapernick will get hurt
  • Cincinnati and Seattle move from wild card to division champion – Overwhelming talent
  • All four divisional playoff games will be blowouts (more than 14 point victories)

Super Bowl: Atlanta vs Houston

Super Bowl Champion: Atlanta Falcons

I think you only picked Indianapolis to go into New England and beat them to get me to comment. No other explanation for such an outlandish pick.

    Well played, sir. Well played.

I half apologize for my last comment. When I had gotten the email it said was Kosmo. WordPress/Feedburner has a buggy RSS feed that way.

I half don’t apologize, because I still think it’s kind of a stretch to see Indy beat the Patriots in Foxborough.

Based on the age and telent depth, I stand by my prediction. If NE can keep all of their stars healthy at the end of the year, they will prove me wrong. Assuming Pittsburgh loses tonight, only the Giants and Steelers have me worried. In some ways the NFC East is becoming the “someone has to win division, with a possible losing record playoff birth.

Yeah, they don’t have a lot of depth and I’ve never seen a football team stay healthy all year. I don’t see the age issue though, unless you mean too young. Most of the young guys are at those depth positions.

I don’t think they need all the stars healthy at the end. I think the defense is going to be a good deal better than most expect.

I think the only team that is likely to be better is Denver. I don’t mind Pittsburgh as a 6th seed. They are injured and are coming off a down year (for them) last year, but I never count out the franchise.
