Sports sometimes mirrors life,Your post is the first I learned that no, it was the Tom Watson I was thinking of.A shame he couldn’t win it,he might still have a great stage in him somewhere, but for now we have to remember what used to be and what could have been.nice article

I don’t follow golf (and I swore off playing several years ago – with the emphasis on “swore”), but know enough to generally know some of the bigger names. When I heard mention of Tom Watson on the radio this week, I remember thinking, “they couldn’t mean THAT Tom Watson – I haven’t heard of him in years.” I thought, with a common name like that, that perhaps there was new young stud named Tom Watson. Your post is the first I learned that no, it was the Tom Watson I was thinking of. A shame he couldn’t win it. That would have been an awesome story, even for non-golf fans like me.
